Synopsis for Massachusetts and Rhode Island coastal waters:
Gusty WNW winds today, a frontal system pushes through on Wed,
bringing scattered showers. Low pressure associated with this
frontal system, intensifies into a gale center along/near the Maine
coast Wed night into Thu, with strong WNW winds across the MA and RI
waters. High pressure brings light winds and dry weather Friday. The
return flow around the departing high may bring showers Saturday.
Increasing onshore flow may develop around Sunday, with high
pressure over Quebec and developing low pressure along the Carolina
coast.
 
Coastal waters east of Ipswich Bay and the Stellwagen Bank
National Marine Sanctuary:
 
.TODAY...NW winds 15 to 20 kt, becoming W 10 to 15 kt this
afternoon. Gusts up to 25 kt. Seas 2 to 4 ft.
.TONIGHT...W winds 10 to 15 kt. Gusts up to 20 kt after midnight.
Seas 2 to 3 ft.
.WED...S winds 10 to 15 kt with gusts up to 20 kt. Seas 2 to
3 ft.
.WED NIGHT...SW winds 10 to 15 kt with gusts up to 20 kt,
becoming W 25 to 30 kt with gusts up to 35 kt after midnight.
Seas 2 to 4 ft, building to 4 to 6 ft after midnight. A chance of
showers in the evening.
.THU AND THU NIGHT...W winds 25 to 30 kt with gusts up to 40 kt.
Seas 5 to 7 ft.
.FRI...W winds 20 to 25 kt with gusts up to 35 kt. Seas 4 to
6 ft.
.FRI NIGHT...SW winds around 10 kt with gusts up to 20 kt. Seas
2 to 3 ft. A chance of rain.
.SAT...SE winds 15 to 20 kt with gusts up to 30 kt. Seas 3 to
5 ft. Rain likely. Vsby 1 to 3 NM.
.SAT NIGHT...W winds 20 to 25 kt with gusts up to 30 kt. Seas
6 to 9 ft. A chance of rain. Vsby 1 to 3 NM.
